Devlog 3 - Expert feedback


Use the following questions as a reference for your documentation. Feel free to edit the format. 

From the expert council:

  • How was the engagement with the EU values perceived by the expert council?

The experts were a little confused about how the EU values were added into our game, because our game is about the otter and the point of our game is that there aren’t any EU values that are focused on animals and their rights. We could make our story of how we connect the EU values with our game more clear, so the experts understand how we came up with our concept and how it intertwines with our message.

  • How playable was the prototype according to the experts?

The prototype was very playable according to the experts and they understood how the game is supposed to be played. They did note that we could change the way the events are in the game to make the message more clear. We have to make the events more intense and 


  • What was their feedback regarding the instructions?

They thought the instructions were very clear and were easy to follow.  But they didn't have a clear style that fit our game, so we were planning to make the instructions in a way that fit the style of our game. 


  • What was their feedback regarding the mechanics?

While playing the game, we came to the conclusion that we could make the story of the game more unpleasant to show the message that the otters are an endangered species and the hardships that they go through. We would have to change the cards with the bad events to show what ugly hardships otters go through in their live.


From your own observations and the feedback from the experts, what are the most significant takeaways from today and why?

- Make the events of the game more unpleasant, to show the hardships of otters.

- Make the instructions fit the style of the game.

- Connect the story about our game with EU value to show where we got it from.

What are your action points for the upcoming day?

- We will make cards for the events in the game more unpleasant to fit the message.

- Make our story about the EU values more concrete.

- Make the instructions fit the stye of the game.
